ICE worker detained in Hyundai raid had valid visa
>At least one of the Korean workers swept up in a huge immigration raid on a Hyundai Motor factory site in Georgia last week was living and working legally in the US, according to an internal federal government document obtained by the Guardian.
>Officials then β€œmandated” that he agree to be removed from the US despite not having violated his visa.
I thought they were only supposed to be going after illegals?

>I thought they were only supposed to be going after illegals?
They're not even really doing that anymore, hence why deportation numbers are still so middling.

Mistakes are bound to happen when aiming to correct a problem that's gone on far too long; there's simply no way to (relatively) speedily correct it other than casting a wide net, resulting in occasionally detaining the wrong person. If certain people didn't allow it to get to this point, the occurrence of errors like this would be far rarer.

They had a valid visa, just not for working. You can't in fact use a visa meant for working in things like business negotiations to work in construction

This. A B1 visa is for meetings and team dinners with a remote office.

I thought that it came out all the Koreans had come into the country on tourist visas and were found to be working instead. Completely in violation of those visas.

I'm so tired of retards acting like finally enforcing immigration laws makes us the bad guys. If I tried to go into Canada or Europe and work while on a tourist visa, they'd throw the book at me and my employer too.

jeets do this shit. they get a tourist visa or a h1b for low level job, then another jeet at the company changes their job title to senior VP. the purpose is so jeets have more corporate power as a race. under the law though the jeet is not authorized to work as anything but technician on his visa.

He was freed and accepted voluntary departure back home since the workplace for his visa was fucked anyway.

So he did nothing wrong, got freed almost immediately after being scooped by the sting, and got a free flight he wanted.
Fuck off.

Uncle Sam cant bully South Korea and Japan into China's embrace fast enough. Dunk Japan's head into the toilet and shove it into the locker.
