You need to understand that the modern left is completely unhinged and disconnected from reality. They view anyone right of center as a Nazi worthy of violence and death. Charlie Kirk is by all means a moderate, with nothing extreme in his dialogue at all. And this, to them, was a completely rational move to take against him.
