Typically, only subatomic particles phase through matter. However, a large enough collection of subatomic particles, though statistically almost impossible, could all phase in unison, producing an effect similar to a ring phasing through someone's fingers.
Again, this is almost impossible statistically, but, given an infinite number of universes, is bound to happen an infinite number of times.
We already live in a statistically impossible universe, as we are alive and conscious. From a probabilistic perspective, we are most likely living in a universe in which God exists, because universes in which consciousness exists are more likely to contain some kind of intelligent designer.
So it was an infinitesimally unlikely fluke event, or, in other words, a miracle.
