I think I'm just mourning the death of the world I grew up in. I mean, I always knew things were over, but this felt like the point where it became clear we aren't coming back for a while. The lights are going out across the West and they won't be re-lit in our lifetime.

Maybe something better comes of this, maybe it gets even worse. Charlie Kirk was never going to be the guy who saved the world, nor the guy who destroyed it. That's the surreal thing. He was just a normie political dude with every NormieCon opinion of the past 40 years. His death is the end of an era. The good times are done. The weak men are done.
