Night before everything like the tents would be set up or at least the 'stage' gated off. Shooter would then get on roof like they have done before and set up the gun, camouflage it and slip away.
Next day he gets back on the roof unarmed, sets up gun, waits for Kirk to stop moving so much 15m in and boom.
Get up and run, leave gun, ditch clothes, run away with everyone else looking like a student (troon).
