In my country gun violence is pretty rare, and that's probably because it's difficult to obtain a gun. In the UK you can't just go to a local supermarket and buy a gun. I think you need a gun licence to own a gun in the UK, and I think they're only given to people who can prove that they'll use the gun for hunting purposes.
