How shocked were you when you first saw video? Be honest. I first read on the the news that he got shot, but survived, so I didn't expect the video to be bad at all. I thought it was just another Trump failed assassination attempt. So the expectation was very low...but then I saw the video and was like "Holy fucking shit!" That dude is gone! It was mind-blowing on the first view. Extremely surreal feeling, I've never felt that from watching other gore videos. It was very

I found out that something happened to Charlie Kirk on fucking/ pw/ I didn't see the video there but I went two poles and his deathbed was stickied and the only thing that I saw comment was on. I didn't really even know who the guy is, but I was familiar with his face. I thought it must be just an awkward clip where he says the wrong word or acts weird like happens in politics all the time. Realizing in a split second that I'm watching someone this normal and boring get shot in the neck and die made my blood pressure instantly drop unlike with any gore video before (even surprise ones). It had never felt this real before.

Gore and death videos are common, but seeing one with someone whose face you see pretty regularly in a mundane safe context is not. To your simple lizard brain he has to be part of your tribe for you to see him this much. I don't think you ever want to get desensitized to violence in that context.
