Newfag tier opinion.
Reddit, like 4chan, was libertarian/libleft during the earlier days (2000s-early 2010s) and has become much more of an echo chamber (as 4chan has) since around 2016.
Reddit removed modtools and custom sub css around 2016, making moderation more difficult, making reddit more uniform and thus enabling more bots and shillposts.
Then they went and banned subs without professional mods and pretty much forced all political discussion to be on one or two subs which naturally turned the majority of discussion lowbrow.
Now they ipo’s and now they are essentially operatives of the democratic party (except when they are hasbara/mossad) on most of the site and most discussion is highly controlled.
It’s a shame because reddit actually used to be good, but it’s been nearly a decade. Doubtful we get that back.
