Why do we just assume these people were Meds? All written evidence clearly distinguishes between two races of people, the Spartan elite and the Pre Hellenic Pelasgian Messenes. Who were these pre Hellenic people? Anatolian farmers. Who were the people who dominated them? Indo Europeans. The more Indo European DNA someone has, the more North European they are.
