the fact is that an intelligent white man can vastly outperform most criminals we hear about. if you're acting dispassionately and planning there are many things you can do that the typical person who gets caught doesn't. With that in mind most people don't know how good the police are in terms of their knowledge on investigation. They have a ton of experience which counts for a lot.
