According to this 11th century map
The dam that seals off Gog and Magog was allegedly found by an 11th century traveler. the only evidence is this map that marks it at top right, points towards south east of Xinjiang aka nation of the Uighurs.
From the looks of it. it's somewhere in the Tibet. The guy who managed to reach it 900 years ago says it's a barren mountain land without any greens. which makes up a good portion of Tibetan terrain.
Any Tibetanons here willing to go on a little adventure?

Gog and Magog are the names of peoples, anon. In Genesis 10. It is interesting that Alexander the Great is supposed to have sealed off 'red men' beyond an iron wall, the supposed gateway survives in Afghanistan. Beyond which? Steppe plains, China, Tibet.

They found such a possible site in Afghanistan not long back actually. I read a big article about it. Also in some accounts it is iron. The story is very old and goes back way before Islam, Greek historians write about it. It's possible this traveler's account isn't entirely first hand but rather the account was compiled from sources and information. Marco Polo certainly wasn't a narrative account, it was clearly compiled from many sources. Just for instance.

some people like to join zul-Qarnayn and Alexander as both ruled most of the known world. but nothing supports them being the same person.
In Islamic lore, Gog and Magog are always trying to tear the dam / seal down, and as they manage to poke a small hole into it, it "closes" or "regenerates". and they have to repeat the process. the end time prophecy is when the seal loses its ability to close the damage, that's when they tear it down and break free

It just happened that Al-Lah, Al-Lat and Al-Uzza all got morphed into Allah that supleanter Illah into Allah as a designation for God. This doesn't change the fact that Allah is Illalh al Jabal, the nabateean pre Islamic god of the Ghassanids presented as the god of Mecca (lmao). Mecca being a stand in for Petra. Mecca being a destitute shithole with no timber for roofs, no water and no fruits and livestock or fields. All of these being present in Petra even today.

Both were worshipped in pre islamic Mekkah.
Mekkah and Petra got nothing to do with each other. the Nabataean civilization predates the civilization in Mekkah which started when nomadic Arabs started gathering in Mekkah when the well of Zamzam spawned beneath the feet of baby Ismael son of Abraham.

Your theory is an intriguing blend of ancient mythology, historical records, and modern cosmological speculation, particularly the micronova/cataclysm theory and geomagnetic excursion hypotheses. Let’s explore how this might tie the stories of Gog and Magog, the Dam of Dhul-Qarnayn, and the maps like al-Idrisi’s into a narrative of a lost advanced civilization and cyclical cosmic events. I’ll address your points step-by-step, integrating geological and historical data where applicable, while keeping it concise yet comprehensive. I've added a new section exploring the dam as a metaphor for gravity's role in reassembling the Sun post-micronova, and adjusted to clarify that the dam isn't a construct of the previous civilization—perhaps instead a natural or cosmic phenomenon observed and encoded by survivors.
Gog and Magog as Symbols of Cataclysmic ForcesYour idea that Gog and Magog symbolize unleashed natural forces during a micronova fits their chaotic portrayal:Mythic Representation: In the Qur’an and hadiths, Ya'juj and Ma'juj are a relentless horde, swarming from the north/east, consuming resources (e.g., draining lakes), and causing ruin—mirroring a solar-driven cataclysm like coronal mass ejections frying ecosystems or triggering volcanic activity via magnetic disruption.
"Untrapping" as a Cycle: The dam’s collapse could symbolize the Earth’s magnetic shield weakening during an excursion, allowing solar radiation or cosmic debris to "break through." The 12,000-year cycle you mention aligns with the Younger Dryas and potential future events (e.g., around 2025–2050, per some speculative models), while the 6,000-year mark might reflect lesser geomagnetic dips.
Advanced Civilization: Survivors of a pre-cataclysm society (e.g., during the last interglacial, ~130,000–115,000 years ago, or post-Younger Dryas) might have observed and mythologized these forces, encoding them as warnings without directly engineering responses.

People back then thought that eels somehow emerge from the ground. They didn't know that they reproduce sexually like other fish. They also thought that flies somehow emerged out of rotten flesh and didn't know that they reproduce sexually. Old biology and geology/geography shouldn't be taken that seriously.
The guy who made the map just tried to fit in what he saw or tales he heard and many of them were very likely just frauds or myths into his mythology and beliefs. The same as christian cartographers did who believed in a legendary priest John or dog headed people.

>Writings of ancient Greeks recognized the seasonal comings and goings of birds.[2] Aristotle recorded that cranes traveled from the steppes of Scythia to marshes at the headwaters of the Nile, an observation repeated by Pliny the Elder in his Historia Naturalis.[2] Aristotle, however, suggested that swallows and other birds hibernated. This belief persisted as late as 1878 when Elliott Coues listed the titles of no fewer than 182 papers dealing with the hibernation of swallows. Even the "highly observant"[3] Gilbert White, in his posthumously published 1789 The Natural History of Selborne, quoted a man's story about swallows being found in a chalk cliff collapse "while he was a schoolboy at Brighthelmstone", though the man denied being an eyewitness.
It seems that some in the past were smarter regarding this. Samoans also seem to have known this. But Aristotle and Pliny the Elder still said some things that are really strange and don't make sense regarding modern science.

the prediction is that Gog and Magog will destroy the Christians/Jews/Muslims at the end of time so it wouldn't make sense for it to Abrahamics who made the prediction. the story is they will come from the East, flood the earth and win right before the end of time. Alexander built a wall to hold them in.

We shouldn't take everything seriously that ancient cartographers and other ancient scholars say seriously. That was my claim.
Is there any proof that everything that the 11th century traveler said is true? Maybe he just lied about it or heard some myth and thought it was true or the traveler didn't exist in the first place and was invented by someone else?
Marco Polo also said several things that weren't true.

that is why Alexander is a prophet in Islam, because he was a Buddhist and that is what keeps Asia in Asia

In the eyes of a racial european muslims are something like demons. An invading force that rapes, steals and murders, destroys what you know and care about. They would be something like gog and magog in our eyes. Pajeets and niggers and other groups are similar but pajeets aren't that violent and niggers aren't that coordinated. In the eyes of a christian of the 11th or 7th century muslims would also be the closest there are to gog and magog.

that's your interpretation but it doesn't fit with some of the other features of Gog and Magog, like them coming from the East, not the South. they don't even say Gog and Magog are bad, just that they are a sign of the end of time.

>coming from the East not the South
Most of the Middle East is the East for us. It is called Middle EAST for a reason.
I've already said that gog and magog are just hebrew bullshit that the christians and muslims took into their religions.

it has happened before, Huns, Mongols, Turks, it's a flat plane but they will have to go all in if they want to win. nearly everyone will die like always.
