It's one of those fields better left empty in developed minds, but where it's too hard to convince the 99% nondeveloped (and yes that includes the "high iq" and "educated" in undiminished amount) that they should believe as otherwise they are going to end up insane.

Turning off critical thinking, creating cognitive dissonance, getting people to conform to a political agenda.
Now that we've discovered philosophy, critical thinking, cognitive biases, etc. we should just be teaching everyone about analytical idealism and helping people realize the truth about reality, the soul, etc. without ancient superstitions mucking it all up.
