Why don't chinese people value human life as much as western peoples and even other asians do? Is it because they're so many of them? Entire generations of them get wiped out by some plague from time to time and they just go on, business as usual. Like an occasional cullint that they just take as a fact of life.

Food shortage is the main reason, its more of a speculation on my part. You cant really afford to think about the well being of others if you struggle fulfill your own very basic needs on a daily basis. This very struggle from generation to generation has left a strong social imprint. And of course as OP sed, generational genocides dont really help with building a decent moral foundation. China is made up of 56+ different nationalities with wildly different views and customs. If they seem homogenized it's because the party killed every loudmouth dissident. Tons of Chinese people are appalled by their government, but they've been silenced either by death or by fear. China is testing the waters of its propaganda by opening up to the rest of the world. No doubt they have a huge problem with Chinese people shifting values once experiencing the West.

Obviously Chinese in the West prefer China over the West, but they get this erroneous idea that they can give China the best of both worlds. The CCP does not want that in the least.

So, credit the inventors, but also give props to the governments and societies that scaled those ideas. The payoff came from the people who built upon it, many of whom definitely weren't white. That would be a more well-rounded and upgraded view to have.
