In the 1950s and 60s, the government began experimenting with all kinds of propaganda, systems of coercion, forced events, etc. to try and create communist radicalization. This blossomed in the 60s and 70s into the Hippie generation who were largely peaceful but contained an active violent fringe. The problem was, the country was getting too wealthy and nice, so by the late 70s all of the Hippies stopped being hippies because now they had jobs and kids and we brought back to being normal people by being able to have a life.

They are doing the same experiment, but this time it's way different because all the young people they're turning into brainwashed lunatics and cultists, this time they CAN'T be de-radicalized by just growing older since there's largely no way for them to get a job, have a kid, buy a house, and live their life. So this time they just get angrier, stay online, fall deeper and deeper into radicalization, etc. Imagine they're being sucked down a high-pressure whirlpool. It pulls them deeper into depression, detachment, and depersonalization, sandpapering away their ability to feel and connect with other humans as they go down.

You don't fix this. They all have to be put away because they're all too mentally ill to lead normal lives.
