the housing "crisis"
You're not owed a modern freestanding house in a leafy upscale suburb just because you work a mediocre 9-5. There's plenty of affordable housing out there if you're not an entitled baby and are willing to put some elbow grease into it. Start climbing the ladder at a lower rung instead of expecting somebody else to hoist you to the top.

The median boomer owns 3 houses, and they only filled to 45% capacity because the half that aren't being productive are cumrocket NFT investment vehicles and rocket-stocks. If you held onto real estate for the last 50 years and bought at firesale prices in 1955 and sold today, you will realize between a 100 thousand and 900 thousand percent gain. That's before taxes though, and you had to pay for upkeep. Shitboxes that sold for $6000 in 1960 with minimal upkeep, are now selling for between 2 and 5 million US Dollars if they're in good condition.

IT'S ILLEGAL FOR ME TO BUILD MY OWN HOUSE
THE GOVERNMENT MAKES IT ILLEGAL FOR ME TO JUST PICK A PLOT OF UNUSED LAND AND BUILD A HOUSE
I HAVE THE RIGHT TO PHYSICALLY EXIST ON EARTH
LANDLORDS SHOULDN'T EXIST
CREDITORS SHOULDN'T EXIST
NATIVE AMERICANS PAID $0 FOR HOUSING AND DIDN'T ASK ANYONE FOR A FUCKING PERMIT OR LICENSE

you should be allowed to just claim land if it hasn't been used for any meaningful purpose for five years

Honestly if your house has no fucking trees, yard, and an acre of land you should be paid for living in it.
What's the point of home ownership of your neighbor's houses walls are literally 10 feet away and half your windows look at their walls?

Honestly I think everyone is entitled to their own little home. We need suburbs with cozy little homes and gardens where people can live and grow in a place that is their own. The government and our corporate overlords have left us out to dry and we need to take care of each other. Why are you pedaling this nonsense that you probably don't even believe?

These already exist. But due to the laws of the universe they're neither free nor infinite and people with more money than you want to live there too. Problem?

Roman Law literally stated that land had to be used for a meaningful purpose or someone else could claim it. We've gone backwards.

Yeah, stop importing people and there'll be plenty of space. It's not our responsibility to save the top 1% of jeets and africans from the consequences of their actions.

i had a realization today while driving through town. all the areas where the rich people live in their fancy homes are also all the "historic" areas whereas all the poorest areas are majority new construction. this means decades ago in the 50s/60s almost everyone lived in these rich ass homes because those areas with the rich ass homes are the oldest areas in town. the poorest are new parts the town expanded into as population increased.
