I do think this is a good general rule and yet all of the pastoral epistles like 1 Timothy and the similar passage telling women to remain quiet in 1 Corinthians are still later forgeries, so I believe Christians should have leeway to ignore them at their discretion.
It's deeper than that. In the Gospel of Thomas Jesus says "I will lead her, that I may make her male, in order that she also may become a living spirit resembling you males". He concludes by saying, "For every woman who will make herself male will enter the kingdom of heaven".
In Mahayana Buddhism, women must "become" men to achieve full Buddhahood. In the Lotus Sutra, the Dragon Kings daughter spontaneously transforms into a man to prove her readiness for Buddhahood.

Careful anon, don't place the church above the word of Christ. >(3) Jesus said, "If those who lead you say to you, 'See, the kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you. Rather, the kingdom is inside of you, and it is outside of you. When you come to know yourselves, then you will become known, and you will realize that it is you who are the sons of the living father. But if you will not know yourselves, you dwell in poverty and it is you who are that poverty."

That is also the word of Christ. To place more trust in the church than you do in Christ is a grave error. The church and their authority is Mans law, this is beyond that.

So did Christ. To reject that is to reject his word. It is a spiritual transformation, and it's what He did for Mary Magdalene and other countless Buddhas have done for female disciples.
Remember anon, don't place more trust in the church than in Christ or you will regret it. They aren't the ultimate authority, he is.
Have a good night.
