Yeah after 17 years on this site and now being 30 it’s pretty much a race to the bottom now. The ultra conservative think tanks opened Pandora’s box after Obama’s two terms. They had 8 years to refine their weaponisation of the information space and unleash MAGA on the world, turning the rejection of basic facts into a badge of honour and identity. Without a sudden resurgence of centrism and facts based normie policy politics, then it’s more a question of when than if society falls apart at the seams. Pretty bleak but we’re probably not that far off at all, I think the midterms will be the point of no return, if the current status quo isn’t rattled by some level of disruption and is allowed to continue shits gonna get real ™.
