I don't actually think that, I think that guy's like Ben and Bibi seem to think they're master magicians and that they just played a brilliant move. Anyone who is even remotely objective can see the points that you made are valid (as to why it won't work). But if you're a narcissistic Jew, full of hubris are you going to see this?
There was an Israeli poster earlier today that said the problem with Israel is that its ran by boomers. If this was the 60s right, the TV would be playing old clips of Charlie (when he was a big Israel supporter) and that would be what would be played over and over to "honour" his memory. They might actually get away with portraying that Ben and Charlie were still best buddies to the public.
In the age of the internet, anons can actually dig out all the clips where Charlie was starting to go against the Jews and share them with hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people. Some Jew comes into a thread tries to say actually Charlie never went against the Jews or Israel, can recieve dozens of links of clips showing exactly that. And then what? Show up in the next thread and play ignorant again? That can only work so many times In a different time they'd have more time to come with ways to spin things, or some coherent narrative. Now things are moving too fast for them.
Also, I think if they *know* they're losing the youth, that Israel support is at record lows, that they have to try *something*. This type of operation may have actually worked in the past too, which is why they might feel confident in doing it. I can absolutely see an out of touch boomer like Bibi giving this plan the go ahead.
