It's been dying for a while now, the niche for it doesn't really exist anymore. I remember going to Hooters with a friend of mine back in like 2002 and being just kind of disappointed by it. The waitresses were all reasonably hot and they would flirt with you, but they were flirty in that strip club kind of way, where you can tell it's just a financial transaction for them. But at the same time they didn't strip or dance or anything, they were just waitresses. I remember we just kind of sat there for awhile drinking beer and eating wings and looking at the waitresses, and eventually we were just like "this is fucking stupid," so we just paid our bill and left. It's a combo of several factors.
