In shows like Leave It to Beaver, women were seen as equal to men to be honest but just different; on the other hand, modern shows are always about girl power and them cheating on their husbands but they are supposed to be the "good guy" protagonists.

But composed by whites. Black's were well off when we let them inhabit certain niches in society (entertainer mostly) while keeping strict tabs on their behavior. As soon as the leash loosens and they think they're participating equally in society they revert to monkey-mode. It isn't fair to them or us.
