Lets look at the facts, more and more research is coming out that suggests socialism is what works and builds a good society. Why? It's very simple, there are many activities that produce immense value to society (externalities), even from a purely financial lens, that a profit-maximizing enterprise wouldn't partake in because it can't reap the added social benefits for itself. However, from a government standpoint, investing in these projects will boost real output by more than the cost, making it a value generating activity.

Most medical research money is from private companies. I don't remember Cuba making any medical breakthroughs.

Tax revenue doesn't pay for your water filtration, your water bill does. Water treatment is a natural monopoly, so usually it is run by a corporation with oversight from the local government, not the same as socialism.
