The problem for people like Tucker is they can't conceptualize post-scarcity. The idea that things could be produced with less labor or less inputs and that people would consume them with less labor or less inputs confuses them.

GDP has nothing to do with the average take home pay of the average worker.

I'd rather tank the entire economy, than flood it with immigrants to suppress wages. Because I care as much about your wealth as you do about mine

Workers are paid according to their marginal productivity. If workers are more productive, they get paid more. GDP is just the aggregate of all production in a geographic area so there's a very linked causal relationship.

>Is that clear enough for you?

Everybody knows that chart has been completely obliterated, even leftists stop posting it.

>Do you know what the greatest period of upward mobility in European history was?

Not the Black Death meme.

That was a great period of economic mobility for POLITICAL REASONS, not economic reasons. The events of the plague inspired an uprising against feudal lords and serfs got more rights, which allowed them to bargain for higher wages.

What's funny is the exact opposite situation happened in Russia, they never went through the political revolution so quality of life got even worse due to the death of such a high % of the labor force.

Cop out. Wage growth has stagnated heavily from the 70s and disputing that is ridiculous. We're obviously more productive than we were then, yet wages have stagnated.

>which allowed them to bargain for higher wages.

B-b-but how were they able to argue for higher wages without a growth in productivity?

>Cop out. Wage growth has stagnated heavily from the 70s and disputing that is ridiculous

I never disputed that

>We're obviously more productive than we were then

No we aren't, not in the three sectors where wage growth has declined. Productivity is not fungible. You can't simply look at "productivity" because it's the aggregate of everything we produce. We have become more productive at some things like producing eletronics and tech related gadgets, and wages have greatly surpassed the price of those things. Now everyone has access to tech that didn't even exist 40 years ago.

Regarding housing, medical care, and education, we have become less productive. Red tape and zoning laws has made it so housing starts have declined relative to population growth, especially in major cities. Per capita we build fewer homes than we did before, we are LESS productive in real estate. Medical regulations have prevented the number of graduating doctors from keeping up with population growth. We graduate slightly more doctors compared to 1984 but our population has risen 54%, and education supply has decreased because Universities now spend way more on overhead and administration, knowing tuition is heavily subsidized by the government.

>B-b-but how were they able to argue for higher wages without a growth in productivity?

They weren't in a free market. Feudalism wasn't a free market where marginal productivity and cost is what determines wages because workers had no freedom to leave their Lords. It's not comparable to an economy where employers compete for labor.

Yes it was. They can work on the farms, they can work in hospitality, they can be uber drivers.

I know people in Texas that live like kings thanks to immigrants (legal immigrants). They hire them as servants to basically cook and clean for them and clean their pool. The immigrant labor brings down construction costs which helps keep prices for housing cheap despite Texas being an economic powerhouse.

>yaron
why is a jew who doesn't understand even first names, let alone surnames walking around with that bullshit he's got, self-posting his nonsense on here? you don't even know what luddite even means, Yaron. Why are you pretending to be intelligent?

The best way to halt automation is to simply stop utilizing things that have nothing to do with it, like AI, and accept a slight amount of less convenience in your life. You do not grasp this concept, because you are part of the coin clipping tribe, who feels you should never work a day in your life, which is hysterical considering that line of thinking only came about after the pedophile Pharisees came back from the Babylon they helped sack and kept preaching their version of 'muh golden plates though' that Mormons follow.

You only see products as stuff that spawns into life, and not the process of how it comes to be. This is why you idiots are fascinated with automation, because you believe it just makes something from nothing faster & faster. To anyone with a soul, and thus the ability to see, sense, & understand the spirit of things (once considered 'aether'), it is very obvious why this does not work, as something cannot come from nothing, and if you had to effectively transmute a thing out of a not-thing, that said catalyst would have to be the spirit/aether floating around.

When you slightly inconvenience yourself for your products and goods, it drives down price, and imparts the concepts of 'temperance' and 'patience', so that you don't feel the need to have new shit on the daily. These two concepts solve all problems that modern economics, which are all based on jewish hogwash, don't. Take your Frankfurt School-adjacent Keynesian nonsense and go home.

The foundation of economic growth is not labour, it's specialization, which leads to cheaper goods and services. Cheap labor is not cheaper than automation, it just has lower initial capital costs.

Except that this view doesn't account for any of the other "non-economic" (though they eventually become economic) consequences. If you flood your nation with beaners and jeets, you destroy the social fabric, increase crime (and the costs of having higher crime), jack up real estate and rent prices, lower the wage floor, etc. In the end these costs greatly outweigh the "savings", but the narrow "economic" view ignores these realities. This was a major factor in what destroyed Rome - they made no investments in labor saving tech because the mass-slave based latifundia system was "cheaper", as this anon >>516076588 correctly pointed out.

Missed this, fucking based anon. Outsourcing to conditions that are essentially slave labor should carry the same penalties as trying to practice slavery domestically. Slavery didn't end in the west, businesses just outsourced it.

That's the funniest part.
Actual Libertarian groups are always very selective about who they let in, otherwise they cease to exist when people just vote to take their stuff.
The founders of their ideology even went on at length about this.

>That's because share buybacks are good for investors. As someone who owns both Microsoft and Apple shares, I WANT more buybacks. You know nothing about corporate finance.
You clearly know nothing about investing or healthy economics. Apple and google have utterly stagnated since their lazy CEOs instigated the buyback policy and their market caps have crumbled in the face of AI. You are actually so stupid and ignorant. They are HORRIBLE investments right now you stupid fuck and anyone who knows about finance is avoiding them. You are a pretender or a blue chip bagholder who slurps up the lines they feed you.

Other way around.

Those people in third world countries NEED those jobs to live.

Boycotting a sweatshop should get you charged for murder. You're forcing starving people out of a job. I say jail for life.

>they are horrible investments right now

Pure financial illiteraccy. You're a brainwashed idiot. I'm suprised there's anyone out they're this dumb and uneducated.
