e.g. here in Australia, very few immigrants until recently when the government suddenly imported everybody it could, it's very rare to see any mixed people. Aboriginals were always very low population too, and didn't mix much. My several-greats granddad was here from the start (~250 years) and I don't have a drop of aboriginal blood. So far as I know, neither do most white australians.

I'm from the north east and I'm almost a hundred percent Scotch-Irish. I'd say I'm more Irish than I am English. I have a lot of relatives in Ireland, and I've been there a few times.

True. I remember watching the series outlander a while ago, had to stop after the first season because it just pissed me off too much. The series is basically about an english nurse who is transported back to medieval scotland right when scotland and england are fighting each other and no one cares about it.
