Yesterday parts of the US south experienced wetbulb temperatures up to 94F (34.5C). At these temperatures, no amount of shade or hydration can save you. Without AC, you die.
And this is just the beginning.

September is expected to be the hottest month on record. Wetbulb temperatures are expected to soar to 120 degrees Celsius, it will be so hot you won’t be able to survive outside 3-4 hours without dying of a heatstroke. Global warming exists and it is getting hotter year after year thanks to the greenhouse effect. This is the coolest summer in probably 20 years where I live. Usually we have a 30-day string of 100+ days in Aug-Sep. This year it hasn’t broken past the mid-90s, and we’ve had weeks long stretches where it stayed in the mid-80s. Lots of rain, everything is green instead of the usual late summer burned brown.
