What is a spectral sequence. I looked it up, something about homological topology? I looked that up too but only got abstract answers like "it's used in geometry" and "can be used to find population stats". I'd love to hear an explanation of what it actually is, on a technical level.

It's a technique for computing the homology/cohomology of a complicated chain/cochain complex. For example, if you can put a filtration on the complex you get an associated spectral sequence which is like sequence of complexes whose successive homologies/cohomologies give the next page, and in the limit it computes the homology/cohomology of the original complex in interest.

Once? I do this shit in my sleep as does any other White man. Dunning Kruger is just saying "Dunning Kruger" because you don't understand something because you're not White.
