Scout snipers need to crawl to their target kill it and leave without detection. The US hasn’t fought a war since 1945 arguably since 1865.
We have no actual soldiers. We have boyscout-SWAT hybrids. Not soldiers.
Seals larp as shock troops but they are careless and poor fighters.
Luttrel crawled away from a fight like a coward and it’s all on camera. They were outnumbered 3:1.

Germany was outnumbered 25:1 and fought to the end.

No soldier who believes he will return home will ever ever fight well. That is why you bring in young men who lack foresight and are almost excited by the thought of death in battle.
These 25-35 year old men can’t fight. Not in America at least.
Then the rotation system only compounds this. This desire to live is also amplified by the multitude of hours during a deployment men can speak with home via secured lines or even civilian lines.

Soldiers must be completely isolated from the homeland, young and single, ready to die, tough and brought up as fanatics.
These are the only high quality offensive soldiers.
Defensive soldiers are a different type and America is a fortress geographically so our defensive will look very different from that of Germany or Russia.
