AI and AGI are literally a meme. AGI has existed as a term for years with no true definition. The only legal definition is in openai's contract with Microsoft which defines AGI as 100b in cost savings or profits attributed to AI.
While the average normie thinks AGI means you will have smart computer capable of doing what a human can do or more. Maybe in writing code or generating videos or images AI will be better than humans but I do not ever see AI doing much more than that at a practical level. And if it does happen it will result in low skill workers without anywhere to go which will lead to them revolting against politicians and business leaders.
I just don't see AI being a net positive to the human race no matter if it is useful or useless. Unless the goal is to kill off 80% or more of the global population.
