A huge part of why there is a negative perception of india recently is the huge flood of indians on the internet, causing them to have a similar reputation on the normie internet as Brazilians have in FTP MMOs. China, Russia etc don't really have this since they have their own internet. Also there's the national security, subversion etc aspect, where American tech companies all have political agendas and are basically an unofficial part of the state. Better for local economy etc etc.
