No one cared about lame pastiche landscape paintings in the 20th century, he was good at drawing architecture but a lot of his fundamentals were lacking, particularly perspective. Look at pic related, there is evidently so many errors (size of the door, window obscured by stairs, window facing the viewer instead of being angled...) also Egon Schiele is clearly a more interesting artist. Hitler clearly had skills but still needed more practice.

People like Egon Schiele (a catholic, btw…) were great innovative artists pushing the boundaries, and while I respect Hitler’s desire to return to tradition, I don’t mind Schiele’s art, it’s still great today when observed in a vacuum. I began a drawing course last year.

Basically, you should be able to draw, what you SEE, not what you think you see.
For instance, not a nose, but a triangular shaped object with varying skin tones depending on the shadows.
