Child care is caring for a child's needs as they come and each child has different needs. Obviously basic needs like food, water, shelter, love, education, hygiene, etc but caring for thier mental and physical health as well. I am a teacher and have studied chils development and seen the trauma a trans child goes through if they are forced fo go through puberty of a gender they were never meant to be.
I faced it myself. I would never wish that on anyone.
Gender affirming care doesn't mean immediately giving them hormone replacement therapy or surgeries. In fact without the other steps first, further transitioning isn't allowed.

We can start simply by respecting them, referring to them by name and pronouns properly, allowing them to dress in a way thay affirms them, as well as later hormone blockers.
These simple things have been shown to reduce suicide.
