I think it's partly from a desire to influence Internet culture, 4chan is very influential. What we say eventually goes, really. So they try to get in here and inorganically forge a false consensus, issue violent threats when that doesn't work, etc.
I'm convinced the women hate threads are primarily designed to keep women off 4chan. And that's fine. But there are always exactly 30 of them up, exactly! LOL. Except in a time of crisis when the bait disappears from the board, also curious.
They write papers and stuff about us too but their methods are laughable. For example, measuring how racist 4chan is over time by counting racial slurs per time interval. But the researchers themselves are active here in the form of shills and they're doing gonzo research where whatever they want the results to be, will be, because they'll affect the data set directly.
Joan Donovan got thrown out of academia for that. Others like Blackburn are on thin ice too.
