He claimed unlawful termination, but he wasn't necessarily a corrupt cop, rather hard to work with, so they fired him. He claimed racism and went on a revenge killing spree. Now he's idolized by libertarians and right leaning black republicans. That's it. This is coming from an unbiased perspective. Was he justified? Not really. Were the cops stupid in catching him? Yes, since they injured American civilians.

He said the other officers were corrupt and racist. He was probably right. They shot up two different trucks with innocent people in them because they were scared it was Dorner, and set the cabin on fire intentionally and lied about it. That seems corrupt to me.

LAPD is notoriously corrupt. They are full of literal gang members and have been found complicit in violent crime and blackmail. I can't recall the details he left behind in his manifesto but he was regularly getting relegated to less desirable positions in the department because everyone called him a goody two shoes. He was a good man. The pigs ended up shooting innocent civilians on mere suspicion during the manhunt.
