I think he is wrong about the magnetic clas being the projectile, that would be wildly unreliable and unpredictable. But if there was a shaped charge in the battery (which is totally possible) then there could be a small projectile in that, or the charge itself might be sufficient.
On the other hand, this would require someone to either fit the audio on him to be sure it worked the right right, or for Kirk to be trained to fit it a particular way, neither of which seem like a very sure thing.

I have no opinion on the crack-bang analysis in the spectrogram because I am not a gun guy, it sounds reasonable. However I would be hesitant about plotting the camera locations because we don't know what focal length any of the cameras have. I looked at his X posts but didn't see that information mentioned anywhere. I don't know whree that screenshot is from as it seems to be a different X thread from the one OP posted. I mentioned software engineers because I used to beta test for Adobe on Audition/Premiere and getting their software engineers to understand and care about this was extremely frustrating. they would keep saying 'but why can't you just configure corrrectly inthe first place' and I had to keep explaining taht the audio editor and the on-set sound engineer are not usually the same person, you often get handed video material with no idea of who shot it or how it was set up, and even if you are doing both jobs and trying to be careful about it you can mess up the camera or audio recording settings every time you have battery or media change.

You don't need a sync between cameras to do this analysis. The analysis uses the time difference between the sound of the gunshot and the sound of the impact to calculate the distance the shooter is from that camera. Then that's what gets compared -- the distance from the camera location gets drawn as a circle on the graph, and the location of intersection is the location of the shooter. No footage is being stitched together, and time is never compared between cameras, only distance.

I checked the guy's math. He did it right. He's spot on here. I didn't check all of the pins, but I checked a couple and it does work. And on top of that, the fact that there even is an intersecting location is itself a form of proof of correctness -- if the math was done incorrectly the circles would be some variety of random, and if you draw that many random circles you will not get one location where all the circles overlap. So either:

>1. He did the math right and found the location of the shooter
>2. He lied and didn't do any math and drew circles to fabricate a result (which I don't believe because spot checking his math does show its correctness)
or
>3. He did the math wrong and he needs to go buy a lottery ticket right fucking now because the probability of drawing 7 random circles and having them all approximately intersect is astronomically low
