Odinists Built the Cathedrals of Europe
I saw a short French film about how the Gothic cathedrals, like Notre Dame and Chartres, might have been built by old pagan builders who carried Odinic symbols and sacred geometry
The author links the designs to the Odal rune and suggests that later Masons only copied or hid the original meaning
It feels like the old gods are still carved into the stones of Europe ..

The floor mosaic seems to echo the Odal rune, and similar symbols appear carved into the woodwork, floors, and stone throughout the cathedral

Its true, and european royalty were still worshipping odin in private until the 15th century they just promoted christianity to the plebs, even the crusades were led by odinists trying to earn prestige and wealth

Are you retarded? They took existing symbols and applied them to Christianity the triquetra was used to reference the trinity it's much easier to convert people when you use concepts they understand

You do realose that it just suggests that Christians took over an older pagan temple.
Similar to how Muslims are converting churches into mosques today. Weak replaced by those currently stronger.

>european royalty were still worshipping odin in private until the 15th century they just promoted christianity to the plebs
kind of a dick move in the end, since pushing Christianity for control just backfired. the later revolutions wiped out the old bloodlines, new elites took over, and whatever Odinist roots they had were lost to history

officially Christ but the details fit Odin. the statue has a single eye (Odin’s mark), stands on an eight-sided base (Sleipnir’s number), and presides above Frigg and sixteen Aesir. Built atop a pre-Christian sanctuary, Chartres may have hidden the All-Father in plain sight

>>518543986

sure, but that logic works both ways. if Christians borrowed the symbols, it means those older meanings were powerful enough to survive them.

The French film you watched was probably made by Oleg, a tinfoil-tier fool who ignores every valid criticism and gets ridiculed in debates against real historians.

Lots of incorrect stuff in that webm, Easter is named after a month possibly associated with a Goddess named Eostre worshipped by one tribe from modern day Kent which is why it's only called Easter in English and Pascha the Greek word for Passover in the rest of Christendom, Easter bunny with eggs originates from Amish immigrants to the US where it was originally the Easter hare, different parts of Germany had their own version of the Easter hare most of which were birds

Forgot to mention that the Easter animals and eggs were entirely Christian in origin and only came into existence many centuries after Christianity was the defacto religion in Germany

>Bro, christcucks just stole the aesthetics
It's not about stealing.
Religious traditions overlap for several reasons, most notably because they are both traditions and ancestral worship.

The saying is that tradition is what you call a solution to a problem when you have forgotten what the problem is.

Having one day of the week as a day of rest is traditional to prevent over working.
It's a best practice.
For instance, jews have it on saturdays, muslims on fridays and Christians on sundays.

Religions also tend to blend with regional traditions (which includes existing religions).
The religious celebrations are spaced out on certain seasons because a lot is derived worship of the sun and earths fertility.

Christmas is at the end of the year, close to the winter solstice to celebrate the end of darkness.
Easter is celebrated as it occurs when the days become longer than the nights (in the northern hemisphere) and nature has its rebirth.

That bimbo is just that, a larping attentionwhoring bimbo.
So the rule remains, don't listen to women. (Demoting women has also been a best practice for millennia, now we try it again and look at where we are heading...)

sacred geometry is the basis for all true spirituality. without it there is no deep understanding of our physical and metaphysical reality. sacred geometry transcends odinism and christianity.

Josephus the jew turncoat did it in service of the Flavians to help cement their place in the imperial cult as gods. It was later embraced and rolled out by Constantine to help make governing an empire easier, don't need so many standing armies if you have the population worshipping your cult

you would think the bible would mention this, but its not in the bible, thus not christian. same as christmas and sunday being the day of rest. the commandment is to keep the 7th day holy, not the first.

Why would Odin be worshiped by the Franks? If they held onto their pagan roots, it'd be Celtic faith from pre-Roman conquest and Hellenic after. Why Germanic variant of PIE faith when it didn't exist in France unlike other pagans? Plenty of depictions of Deus looking like Zeus, could have gone the classical root of repurposing classical stuff.
