They store energy for when it's dark/there's no wind, but they're horridly inefficient. Windmills in particular take about as much/more energy to build than they'll ever generate in their operational lifetimes.

Multinationals can buy "carbon credits"
So a company builds a thousand windmills in china, and sells the carbon score on the market.
A company in the US who has really bad carbon emmission problems buys these and now has a net positive emission on paper.
It's a massive lie, and on top of that, china doesnt actually build these windmills, they are only real on paper.

there are off-grid setups that work but they require a lot of land, maintenance and money to replace every 10 years
I know a guy that used water solar panels, he had hot water spring to autumn, winter was still on solid fuel
he had a lot of wood so was able to run it "for free", just time spent on chopping it all
I once visited him for 3 days to fill wood storage, 3 of us working 16h to have wood for winter
I use log burner to supplement gas heating, works well with wood leftovers I have but to rely only on it 100% would be too much work

It's really very simple
>Coastal winds work due to the differential heating of land and water. During the day, the land heats up faster than the water, creating warmer, less dense air over the land that rises. This causes cooler, denser air from the sea to flow in, creating an onshore sea breeze. At night, the process reverses as the land cools faster than the water, causing warmer air over the sea to rise and cooler air from the land to flow offshore, creating a land breeze.

only thing I can think of is maybe they're referring to battery storage, IE solar panels can generate electricity in the day and then store energy in the night. But that has limitations and efficiency cost (especially in a northern winter where it's dark for a long time) and even then the solar panel itself is not generating electricity so the Republican is still right.
And with windmills you can have multiple days of no/low wind in a row so batteries wouldn't be enough.

Another issue is that long-distance energy transmission is less efficient IE if you generate from a wind farm in a windy area and then send that energy to someplace 1000 miles away, you lose a lot of the electricity in the process.

I love renewable energy and believe we need more of that and less fossil fuels. But we also need to be realistic about the limitations

Green energy is good to have around, there’s no good reason not to extract literally free energy from the wind and sun. It is also not as reliable as fossil fuels and has very real limitations, so we will always need some amount of fossil fuels for the foreseeable future.

batteries aren't merely expensive or impractical
the technology for storage even at current capacity DOES NOT EXIST
>As of 2024, the global gap between renewable energy capacity and battery storage capacity is substantial:
>Solar capacity: Global installed solar capacity reached 452 gigawatts (GW) in 2024.
>Wind capacity: 117 GW of wind capacity was installed globally in 2024, for a cumulative capacity of 1,136 GW.
>Battery storage capacity: Globally, 175.4 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of installed capacity in 2024, reaching a total battery storage capacity of 55.7 GW as of 2023.
>This means the amount of total wind and solar capacity greatly outweighs the ability to store that energy for later use. This disparity highlights why renewable energy is considered an intermittent energy source, where the amount of power it can provide varies throughout the day.
>The difference between current storage capacity and the amount required to meet climate goals is dramatic.
>IEA scenario: The International Energy Agency's (IEA) Net Zero Emissions scenario projects a need for nearly 970 GW of battery storage capacity by 2030, a 35-fold increase from 2022 levels.
>COP29 pledge: In late 2024, the COP29 climate summit aimed to increase global storage capacity to 1,500 GW by 2030. This would be a six-fold increase from 2022 levels.
>Flexibility requirement: The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) estimates that over 1.5 terawatts (TW) of energy storage is required by 2030 to provide 24/7 reliable, clean energy.

now the groundwater tests positive for hexavalent chromium (just to note, that is very bad) among other highly toxic substances
since they can't store the daytime power of all the solar arrays here, they have to dump it into other states, which sometimes don't even pay for it
then at night they import energy at 50x the average daily rate because there's nothing near the battery capacity to store the solar power from the daytime

even if they did exist, Its retarded on its face, Lithium is an extremely volatile substance. And the batteries when completely dead are horrible for the environment. They're harder to recycle than lead acid batteries.

Besides there are better ways to store energy at scale, you could create a reservoir at a higher elevation, pump water to that elevation and have a hydro electric plant to extract the energy.
You're too retarded to even understand how that would work. Besides, if they were serious about clean energy they would be drilling into Yellowstone and using that fucker as a big fuckoff geothermal plant. Turning a super volcano into a national park has got to be the dumbest shit idea the US government has ever had, the other wasted land mark, Niagara Falls could produce a shit tone of energy, but nobody wants to build a hydro electric plant there.
Outside of that, Nuclear could fill in the gaps. then you would remove the need for fossil fuels entirely.
But your goal isn't to actually get away from fossil fuels, your goal is to virtue signal and siphon money off to give to China to build these solar panels and wind turbines that are actually far worse for the environment than a natural gas plant.

What can we do to destroy the world's food supply to levels that cause mass starvation and billions of death? How vulnerable is the food supply and how can we target it? The only way I can see this world getting better and preventing the total jeetification of everything is we somehow destroy so much surplus food that all the weak, the old, the dysgenic, the retarded, the violent, etc. end up killing each other due to mass starvation. All the people that need to take medications to live, that need infrastructure and services running to stay alive, that are already on the edge of violence and too stupid to work something out, etc. we just need world wide starvation. It's the simplest way to reset everything and end the scamming, the criminals, the degenerates, all of it. Imagine if every country had swathes of people who are starving to death in it what could snowball from that. All the damage to infrastructure, looting, etc. could compound the issue. After a year the survivors can rebuild in a world now free of billions of burdensome degenerates like pajeets. Is there any way we can target in particular the food supply of India? or do they already all just survive off of eating cow shit from cows that eat grass and we'd have to literally destroy all the grass and cows to end the jeet infestation? Do they have silos that store huge amounts of food? Maybe a small team of very dedicated people could make a few industrial accidents happen and cause the food supply of India to be deleted.

Read the news dummy. They are building industrial battery plants everywhere. When the catch fire (which everyone eventually will) they have no way of putting it out. They burn for days will smoke that will kill you.
Big fights in NYC right now to stop them.

You know stuff.
My idea is building water towers so the energy pumps water up in the day then the turbines in the pipes produce energy at night when it drains.

Irrelevant, there's no proposal to use 100% wind and solar.

Also, it's always sunny and windy somewhere. The sun sets and the wind stops at predictable times, allowing older energy sources to be spun up as backup

Nuclear, geothermal, hydro
the only viable large scale "green" energy. If anyone says otherwise they need to have their teeth knocked out
Solar and wind? useful on small scales I guess. On an individual scale solar is great. Those shitty giant solar farms? produce fuck all energy and cost more energy to maintain than they generate in energy. They literally have diesel generators at these "solar farms" in cali to keep the power going when the panels fuck up or the weather is bad. Fucking scam shit for retards.

They won't gain power. Anyway Green Energy is not viable on a mass consumption scale, unless you own your own Solar Panels/Wind Turbines, you will never see GE be viable due to the insane demand people have for power.

Wait until you find out they break down every five years and have to be completely replaced from scratch and they don't have a way to dispose of the blades so they just bury them in the fields and let them seep toxic waste into the soil for the next 10,000 years since metal isn't biodegradable.

Kills the salmon, eels and anything else which needs to swim upstream.

Nuclear is the cleanest and safest way of producing significant amounts of power.

explain why this doesn't exist in places with MASSIVE renewable usage like germany and california
SO MUCH money thrown at this and there's a 1.5 TW shortfall anyway
I don't need the details to know that this technology is unviable
otherwise the germans would have it
california would have it

They already do this in a few places. The problem is you are spending as much energy as you are gaining. So it works best as a massive hydro battery, but it doesnt actually generate energy.

It's only energy neutral or negative if you need to pump the water against gravity. If you're just redirecting a river that already wants to flow it's energy positive.
