You don't really understand the purpose of tariffs do you? It's to make it so imported goods are too expensive to buy.

The consumer mostly has what the consumer needs already. This is going to impact businesses that rely on China and force them to reshore operations or go out of business if somebody else beats them to it. We can make anything here, but there have been economic incentives NOT to since the Clinton days.

Tariffs will absolutely change this and other countries will benefit as China loses business too. Korea and Japan and even Vietnam make stuff that China makes too.
