I was forced to sell early due to health issues.

In terms of being targeted due to wealth that will happen depending entirely upon what you use your wealth for. There are a number of topics that if you dare invest into they WILL kill you over it. A very popular example on the Chans is the Hunt Brothers over silver. They got lucky because they were allowed to live.
