How do modern day Russians feel about the fait of Nicholas and his family?
I watched a documentary on RT about some weapons factory somewhere in Russia and they made a point about having Bolshevik leaders on the wall including Stalin and how modern day Russians should embrace their past. Why seems there be more effort put into a redemption for these guys compared to the last Tsar of Russia? Hard to imagine that Russians were fairing better after he was gone.

Abdication and imprisonment: Following the February Revolution of 1917, Tsar Nicholas II was forced to abdicate his throne. The former imperial family was then moved to various locations, including Tobolsk and later Yekaterinburg, under Bolshevik control.

Execution: On the night of July 16–17, 1918, the Bolsheviks executed Nicholas II, his wife, their five children, and some of their servants in a cellar in Yekaterinburg.

Legacy: Their deaths marked the end of the Romanov dynasty and the Russian monarchy. The remains were eventually identified and buried with full honors in 2000. The family was also canonized by the Russian Orthodox Church in 2000.

Was he too antisemitic to serve as an inspiration for the people?

I’m not a Marxist by any means but I’m pretty sure Russia had been in an economic tailspin for decades before Nicholas II took power, and he did little to nothing to stop it. Even if Russia was modernizing, Marxists apparently thought it wasn’t going fast enough. In the end, being a rich fag in the wrong place at the wrong time will always end in disaster when the Jews make their goloms riot (see Rhodesia, South Africa or basically any “revolution” in the last 150 years)

Tsarist Russia lost to Japan. The first time a European Great Power lost to a non-European nation in centuries. That should have never happened. And with the miserable performance in WW1, people were outraged. Revolution at that point was inevitable.

I'm not Russian but I read a book about this and apparently things were pretty bad in the tsarist days. Most Russians were unironically better off under the soviets but only because Russia was always so backwards and shitty. Even worse, Nicholas was weak at a time when a strong ruler was needed. The civil war was a circus and the whites degenerated into bandit warlords.
