Problem is that when stocks crash, companies lose money and will be forced to cut cost to remain afloat, meaning massive cuts to payroll and production. You get entire factories shut down and all employees fired. This hurts the billionaires but they can survive just fine. The people losing their jobs are people living paycheck to paycheck and their only recourse is banditry or suicide.
