I can form complete images or movies in my head in complete HD and make them do whatever I want. I can play out a whole story in my mind. Something unique that I have come up with. Different characters, voices, etc. Move around them while the scene is happening, like a floating camera in high definition.

I have had a couple stories, or worlds if you will, that have been developing in my mind for a decade, multiple characters in each. When I go to bed I jump in the one of the stories and continue it. Everyone and everything is in sharp detail.

When I read a book it's like fucking IMAX in my head. My friends don't get it. None of them enjoy books, because they can't see it as a movie in their heads. I move the camera around while the characters are talking, it's fully immersive. That's why I love reading, my imagination is better than any IMAX. I have a friend that hates reading, took me some time to figure out why - he doesn't see what he is reading in his mind, like a movie, he just reads the words and absorbs their meaning without imagining, without seeing anything. I can understand why he hates reading, it doesn't provide any input for him, literally nothing to see.

Same. I can create highly detailed scenarios and remember them 20 years later with ease. I usually pretended to be stranded on an island and rebuild civilization from scratch and work on one scenario over years. Helps me fall asleep. I can also shift the apple through multiple dimensions. I always assumed everyone was like that but i get proven wrong on a daily basis

I used to have this ability too but I had several traumatic brain injuries and I gradually lost this ability, even when I'm dreaming I can barely see any image, I used to read a lot of novels but now it has become boring because the physical descriptions they contain are simply no longer meaningful to me anymore, please guys don't ever hit your head

Only 1 & 2 exist.

NPCs don't exist. People you think are annoying or stupid exist, but there is no such thing as a soulless person.

I talked to someone who assured me only 5 could be. It became apparent he thought he should be literally seeing an apple, and not simply imagining a vivid image.

He was always doing the latter, for some reason he thought he should be seeing a literal apple in the darkness of his eyes.

I conceptualize and manipulate the stuff easily, but cannot 'see' ? rather it's like the topology of the scenes + the textures of the interactive subjects.

it's called a lucid dream, and you can sometimes induce it by setting a quiet alarm at a specific point in your sleep cycles
there are techniques available for this online

it's cute how you fags figured out how autistic you sound when you brag about narrating everything to yourself and moved on to pretending that you're special because you can imagine things

I'm almost always lucid but if I "don't play by the rules" of the dream I start to wake up, so there is a limit to how much I can break the rules before needing to stop and fall fully under again.

People are generally terrible at describing how their mind works and it's made even worse by the fact that everyone prefers to make sure they aren't seen as abnormal or crazy.

sometimes I can make myself dream about what I want if I lay there thinking about something before falling asleep. doesn't always work though. but whatever the setting or scenario, I realize I can do what I want. its so interesting being asleep but also aware that I'm asleep. like a 4th wall rbeak

sometimes the last show or video or game I played right before sleeping will set the topic. another thing is when people are talking near me while I'm asleep, I'll sometimes dream about that. then I realize when I wake up they were talking about that thing and my mind heard it

And I can't create my own unique stories. I can only play them out in my head

Anon, you can't write an effective script just going from one scene to another like a kid in a sandbox.
You have to think abstractly, create a structured storyline, then render it with your imagination.
No one will care about your soaring mind-scapes without a good story to keep them involved.
Do you keep yourself involved in the story, or do you just run around in your mind doing things with no point?

I can imagine a full scene in my mind, take a detailed object and rotate it, cut it, dissect it, etc. and correctly imagine how it would look in 3D.
I can have long, detailed dialogues with multiple simulated distinct viewpoints.
However, my standard day to day experience is 5 - head empty and no voice going automatically.
I have to choose to visualize or talk to myself in my head. It's trivially easy, but it doesn't happen automatically except for rare circumstances like having the imagined world of a book I'm reading pop into my mind or thinking through what I'd say to someone before or after a stressful interaction.
Am I an NPC? 95% of my waking experience is head empty, but I absolutely can and do visualize and hear things when I want to.
I think having a nonstop inner monologue running is more of an NPC indicator. Can't imagine how annoying and stressful that would be. You'd never be able to relax and enjoy things.

What I never understood is that these people that are a 5 on this scale can’t dream then right? I mean dreams are just images made by your mind. If you don’t dream are you even human at that point?

reminder that a study was done and low iq is correlated with people that claim they can visualize. it makes sense too. if you told someone to visualize an apple there's not enough information there to accurately visualize an apple so the only way to think about the apple is as a concept. intelligent people are also more honest about their abilities

When I think of an apple, it is like the 1st one but I have to manually imagine the exact textures like colour variation/patterns, scabs, spots and so on on the apple which takes effort. And then I can play it as a video in my mind as if i'm looking at it, turning it 180 degrees, but then I have to imagine all the details of my fingers manually and the background if I am to focus my attention on that instead of the apple. If I don't think to manually do that, then it's sort of just a vague image. I suspect that this is how most people's minds work when visualising but i'm just hyper aware of the limitations of my mind's eye. When I was visualising this scene, I was in the old cottage I grew up in as a child. I'm standing in the kitchen and I can see all the cupboards and even the old tiles on the wall, and some oranges in the fruit bowl

I'm imagining a drystone wall I'm going to build in my garden and I can see a vague image of each stones. The size and scale is correct, but It looks realistic until I focus on the exact rocks. Every shape and texture and how they sit on eachother I have to imagine up manually if i'm focusing on detail. It's not like the image is blurry. It's hard to explain. But anyways, I can create a scene in my head were I walk up to it, look at each rock, walk the length of it, look over it, pick a rock from the top, look and turn it around ect. But it takes effort. My visualisation used to be much more vivid when I was a child. or perhaps I just wasn't aware of what I wasn't aware of in my imagination, I'm not sure
