They do this shit because the people working at these places are on zero hour contracts, which let's the employer get away with paying their employees a decent wage, so they do this to encourage the employees to stay as there wages are boosted tax free (some places tax the tips given to the employees also, kek).

we've had the 10% tip norm for 20 years or so. now every coffee shop has you choose a tip amount at the POS, and some retards want to push the standard tip to 15%.

I was in Bucharest in may and would say grocery prices are maybe 10% cheaper than here due to cheaper local products, other items are the same.
Restaurants were roughly 20% cheaper
All in all i was disappointed prices were so high

In most of europe, tipping is not required, nor do any restaurant ask for it, at POS or directly by the staff. People usually just round up the sum on the check and that's the "tip", if they want to.
