>Hey man you remember when our zog government was so scared of releasing the EPSTEIN FILES that they crashed the economy and shut down the government on purpose. Yeah man I remember, but the thing that got me is how they stopped funding all our infrastructure but they kept sending billions to Israel and still funding Ukraine....

53/56 republicans voted to open the government. 1/44 democrats voted to open the government. In total they need 60 votes. Explain to me how it's a republican shut down when they vote to reopen it at over 90% while democrats want to open the government at like 2%.

That's because his task is to keep public opinion on the side of the GOP while dragging this out as long as possible. Most of his support to get this done continues to come from Democrats themselves, so he's in a good spot.

This is the ultimate do nothing/win scenario.

A "declaration against interest" is inherently reliable.
>The general rule against hearsay prevents out of court statements being used in court because these statements may be untrustworthy. Evidentiary rules allow an exception for a declaration against interest under the reasoning that a person would rarely say something that would be against their interests unless it were true.

All Johnson has to do is crack on some ACA funding and it would be over. The shutdown has a twofold purpose. Gut healthcare. Delay the Epstein files vote.

The government shutdown every year, sometimes multiple times a year. A bill has been sitting around in congress to make shutdowns impossible in the future. My guess is they want this to carry on so more people vote for that bill so government never gets shutdown again.

Rather than extend healthcare for others, you want fewer people to receive healthcare. Tell me how this isn't demonic in nature.
You just know that if this gets repelled ICE is going to camp the hospitals and ask you for proof of nationality before they allow you to receive emergency care

we don't want people that shouldn't be getting healthcare on our dime
getting healthcare on our dime.
it's neither difficult to understand
nor is it somehow immoral.
people who are here illegally can obviously go back to where they came from and get healthcare there if they so choose.
the american tax-payer is not obligated to pay for the world's health problems.

It will be remembered as the Epstein shutdown

RAJU: Earlier this year you swore in 2 Republican members during a pro forma session. So why not swear in Adelita Grijalva who was elected 2 weeks ago? Does it have to do with her 218th signature on the Epstein discharge petition?

MIKE JOHNSON: It has nothing to do with that at all. We will swear her in when everybody gets back

RAJU: Why not now?

JOHNSON: Uh -- we'll schedule it, I guess, as soon as she wants

That's because enough people like shutdowns because it "forces compromise" that it won't pass, at least not without a senate supermajority.
