The only interior wall you need is to separate the bathroom from the rest of the unit. Otherwise make the bedroom walls open shelves for storage and that would be a comfy bachelor pad.

I lived in a similar space for a few years. Its entirely doable. I used a gun locker as a wall and bathroom door. The table and chairs need to be foldable and then hang off of the wall. Have the couch be a fold out bed, use a hot plate, minifridge, and always cook food covered. Anything greasy I did on the bbq. It only works if there is some outdoor space for larger storage, a bbq, a loft for dry storage, and ideally a crawlspace for seasonal gear in bins. These floor plans are a nice idea but they don't show the rest of the available space and anyone who has ever lived in a pod knows you need to customize everything to fit into the smallest space possible. A toilet in the shower allows you a fullsize shower which is way better than a stall.
>The one plus side is that you won't be tempted to fuck fat chicks. When you see them trying to squeeze through the kitchen you will lose all interest instantly.

You can get storage space instead of the lamp and plants (there is no window, they would wither anyway). Get PC instead of the sofa, you are right, there is no TV, so why have such large sofa? Get robotic companion instead of animal, hide it in charging dock under bed (shared space with roomba vaccuum). No room for cooking? Perfect, no need for such large kitchen table, suddenly you have space for hobbies, workdesk or bench for lifting.

These concepts would be a lot more popular if they came with a second equivalent space which acted as a garage/workshop/home gym whatever. The strangest thing about these technocrat minimalist fantasies is that they usually get the first half right (mcmansion consumerism is retarded) and then shit the bed on the second half - seacan bachelor pads are doable but they need to be a 2 for 1 deal so people aren't crammed inside of them trying to do woodworking on top of their mattress.

It is. Its a lot of fun. You develop a good sense of community and hang out drinking by the bbq pit. But each person really needs a double wide's amount of square footage, with parking, and utility considerations. By the time its all done, you have everything on hinges and wheels, and your ceiling is basically just grid pattern of hooks for hanging stuff up. It would be more cost effective to just manufacture more mobile homes and use them on little 50'*30' plots of land around a central cul de sac. By the time people build decks and garages, you have a nice little community. And you don't have to listen to some drunken whore wailing after a night at the bar.

this is for a single adult male. i'd change it up a little. opening to the bedroom should be on the topleft corner, and there shouldn't be a gap to see the bed from the door. hang tv above dining table. door on entrance to bathroom. stove added to the left of the sink. move bed down to the wall and remove both nightstands. also make the bed 2/3 the size. might need one nightstand next to bed actually for guns. and that's about it. also some nice art on the walls

Also no floorlamps, all lighting can be ceiling or wall mounted. Push the table into the corner, or get a table that also seconds as a work desk. TV goes on that wall, or mount a projector. With lofting the bed and using it as more storage space, the bedroom gains a lot of extra function. In the bathroom, you could install a lot of racks and cabinets for toiletry storage.

It can work, but only for one person, no animals.

>kitchen has no oven or range, only microwave
Only thing I really object to, really, provided it has a fiber internet hookup and I'm not cucked on wifi or something. I wouldn't need a sofa (who would I invite over to sit on it? ) so that corner would be for my computer desk and perhaps a TV on the wall shared with the bedroom. Dining table could be half that size with only one chair. Maybe I will keep a folding chair tucked away in case somebody visits. No reason to waste space on entertaining fantasies like having FOUR people sharing a meal with me.

With the leftover space in that corner I could probably fit a lamp and a comfy chair with a small table, a perfect reading setup. Since there's no windows I'd cover as much of the remaining wall space with bookshelves as I can. I prefer reading print books, and I wouldn't want to sell my existing collection. I'd keep them in banker boxers piled up around the place until I got the shelving figured out.

I don't have extravagant needs for space. This place would be easy to take care of. The only real problem is that limited kitchen. I save a lot of money by being able to prepare large batches of simple meals using a range and oven. That counterspace is so small it'd probably feel cramped even preparing so much as a sandwich on it. Very much a kitchen for somebody that lives out of their freezer or eats out all the time.

I absolutely agree. Malls are perfect for starting out because of their overall design. The main reason people hate the pod designs is because they are all specifically built on a footprint which is punitively petite. In the future some sort of minimum square footage per occupant legislation will be necessary. I imagine it will be in the 500sqft range.

Repurposed shopping malls run the high risk of becoming very high end apartments with outrageous rent, especially with the college age kiddies riding it out on daddy's dime. They're really cool when they're done right (interior walking areas are basically indoor parks for the residents) but repurposing hotels with small kitchenettes in each unit would be good for lower class people. The units would be 1-1 1/2 rooms with a single bathroom and a small kitchen area and then you'd have the common areas. I'd imagine as the economy and housing crisis inevitably get worse and worse a lot of hotels will probably shut down as well given people will be traveling less and have less money. We may indeed see a bunch of these pop up in the next 10 or so odd years. Same with camper communes, a bunch of people just parking their campers they live in in places like KOAs, or groups buying the lots out to make them permanent residences akin to trailer parks.

Only if you threw away/sold all of your belongings first. Otherwise, lack of storage space makes it a rat's nest and it takes 8x the amount of time it should take to clean. Also, hardly any space above or around the kitchen sink means washing any dishes makes a constant mess you are constantly having to clean off of everything. There's a certain point where lack of space makes the chores more difficult. The difference between vacuuming 400 sqft and 1000 sqft is fucking nothing. When you have to rearrange all your shit 10x to get the cleaning done, you now have 8x'ed the amount of time spent doing basic upkeep.

Perhaps, but you have no counter space to do any elaborate food prep. You have just enough space that you could maybe prepare one ingredient at a time, assuming you had space in your fridge to store prepared ingredients. Even then this method would severely limit what you could prepare using just one microwave oven and barely any counterspace.

They have already repurposed some extended stays for low income housing. I doubt it's nice in there, but the flip side is it may alleviate some pressure on traditional low income housing and section 8. Hell, you could build a bunch of cabins and give them shared common areas and people of all colors would consider them. If they get filled up that's people not looking for other options. Yeah, more than fine for barracks/campus living because they have dining halls, gym and laundry that isn't a 20 minute drive away, and all of your guns, books, sports gear, tools, etc is probably in your bedroom at Mom's house. When you're on your own in a place that doesn't provide all that, living in a shitty space like that will necessitate becoming a bugman to avoid life-altering levels of stress and wasted time. Shedding useful and valuable possessions that are increasingly expensive to replace, and at lower quality. Part of the "you will own nothing" agenda, no doubt. I firmly believe they are trying to maneuver a way to get people to throw out old tools, gear, and appliances that will work forever due to lack of space right now, just to make people more dependent on the system of goods built to break and subpar services performed by jeets and indios that will be underpinned by a CBDC.

Its pretty simple anon.
Make a dating profile.
Explain you want someone who will cook for you, clean for you, fuck you, and then go home so you can get a good night's sleep.
Explain that you will verify all of the above on the second date.
>Bring her over and show her where stuff is. Then leave her alone with a couple bottles of wine, the necessary ingredients, and a dirty apartment. When you get back judge her performance as necessary. If she did a good job, bang her out and then send her home. Otherwise just throw everything in the trash, her included, and order food. Just keep doing this until you have the right person. If she doesn't like these terms then don't go on the first date. Stop treating women like they have any rights. They don't. They already know that, so just skip the bullshit and tell her to make you dinner while you go for a pint. If she can't follow those instructions, you are dodging a huge bullet. And don't stick around to talk to her. She needs to earn a conversation. Just give her some time management tips (get the food in the oven before you start on the bathroom) and leave. It works about 1/3 of the time.

I lived for months and my grandparents lived for decades in **similar**setup in much larger apartment in commieblock (main bathroom, 5 cm thick wall, toilet with place for toilet only, 5 cm wall, kitchen, so there is only one shaft needed) and smell was never an issue. Just close the door and if both rooms have different ventilation routes it will work. It was popular floor plan around 1970s

i personally didnt cooked more or less anything, in last 15 years.. and most of shit i eat is "tv-dinner" type for micro, and rest is from cafeteria at work (breakfast/dinner). btw i eat no fast-food type of food, maybe my 1% of monthly food consumption, obviously theres ton of muricans that feed almost excluively on fast food chains >>> no need to cook

Not even economical.

China demoed those fold out apartments that look fine and cost less.

The price is
Land
Foundational supports
Utilities

Actual rooms being 100 ft or 200 ft is like 1-2% price difference.

Don't worry, goy, your landlord thoughtfully provided the HustleBustle Cafe on the ground floor of the hive, where you can spend $20,000+ a year just getting your basic breakfast/lunch each day.
Plus who needs more than a 4" thick microwave? Your frozen taquitos will fit in there just fine with a little planning.

You have a perfectly good Onesie, what more do you need?
Not sure how you're supposed to get from the crapper to the shower though. Especially if, like, you break a leg skiing or whatever.
Also rather amusing how the bottom left plant is mounted to the wall. Ah Revit. Is there any jeetastic chanmonic bullshittery you can't facilitate?!?!?!?!?!
Obviously a data mining thread though.

Standard queen bed is 80" x 60". You can use that as a scale. If floor planks are 11-12" (9 of them = length of bed) then you can measure everything else by that. Which means they drew the sofa all wrong scale.

Just connect the toilets to some sort of gravity refill system where they use the reclaimed water from the toilet above, then put people who use the bathroom more often on the top floor. This could also work with showers.

I think this is called a gray water system. You use filtered water from stuff like the shower and laundry machines. Bit of a waste as far as commodities go though. Costs more to get already cheap water than it does to buy infrastructure to handle expensive electricity.

The main reason new apartments are so stupid expensive and low quality is because most big cities require developers to designate a percentage (in my area it is 15%) of the complex to poors that get what ends up being about a 50% discount on rent.

This makes it unaffordable for the middle and upper middle class to have an upgraded living experience since your rent has to subsidize niggers and poors before it can be used to fund luxury features like better sound insulation or nicer kitchens.

Canada gave up on building affordable housing in the 1980's because the costs were too high for the crown Canadian Mortage and Housing Corporation. The feds basically unloaded all subsidized housing/Co-op onto the provinces and municipalities who didn't have the pockets and ability to get big loans to build housing projects. Instead the unofficial housing plan was "boomers will sell their homes and buy newer, better homes while their current house decreases in value with age". Unfortunately the opposite has occurred with a 35 year seller's market and housing bubble coupled with boomers refusing to move into nursing homes.

Could be worse. In Toronto on top of subsidizing shitskins, 1% of all development costs must be allotted to public art. So BS like this is just an excuse for developers to give their douchebag artist friends multi-million dollar commissions for crap
