Do you know why russia is like this? Take a look at russian population numbers going back to pre ww2. Every 20 or so years they have a population decline. Like clockwork. Its because when you kill so many of your people either at home or overruning nice germans who just want russians to stop being murdered by their insane dictator, it fucks with your population. The us, as a result of vietnam, once had a similar problem. But all the H1Bs and foreign imports thanks to kikes has probably offset this somewhat. I aint your teacher or your pappy so if you wanna look it up just use google you fucking nerd, it'll be easy enough to find.

Fine, because you ask politely. But don't make it a habit, learn how to do your own research instead. Look up UAlivemap. Be aware that the information situation is not good and all the lines on the map may change depending on new reports.. Everyone involved in this war lies, almost all fresh info is based on rumors and hearsay, sufficiently reliable confirmations often take days. So the map never accurately depicts the facts on the ground. Especially in the front sections with active fighting going on.

Russia has hundreds of refineries. Ukraine has hit about 20. These have all been repaired in days to weeks.
Ukraine on the other hand has no means to repair its infrastructure which makes the Russian strategy of slow escalation even more powerful. Every time they attack energy infrastructure their leverage increases far more than if they had knocked it all out at the start.

Yesterday we had a glorious Russian assault around Pokrovsk.
Led by the moto-dragoons, a column of tanks drove to Shakove, dropped off some infantry and . . . then they literally all fucking died lmao
Something like 47 motorcycles got destroyed (lol) alongside with a handful of tanks and over a dozen APCs and a 107 Russians killed.
This has been the largest armored assault in the region in weeks, and it was quite literally destroyed in detail.

They're a part of NATO now, they are a sovereign nation. They might have lost the swamps of Karelia, but they did not lose their souls.
This will be the same fate for Ukraine; no matter how much territory Russia manages to hold on to, they will still never defeat Ukraine, and have in many ways forged their national identity; one which will stand for centuries.
So yeah, keep posting maps about the same ten podunk villages Russia's bled a million men over taking, all a brisk 15 minute walk from each other, keep clamoring about how you are defeating all of NATO (lmao), all you're doing is convincing us of the righteousness of our actions.

I know. This war is honestly the most retarded thing in the world and I still swear by what I've said since the start.
This is a BRICS ploy.
It's a massive moneysink performed by Russia, while China and India can keep plausible deniability, allowing India to be a market middleman for the EU to buy Russian gas, at a mark-up.
Russia is the best nation for it because despite collapsing every fifty fucking years it always pops back up, it's in the perfect spot to be a threat to half the western world, it's also far enough away from the USA to be more of a logistics fuckarow for the USA to do shit, while also being armed with nukes as a deterrence.

China and India keep campaigning for peace, which the nafo and uhg faggots keep falling for, despite the fact that they're both making out like bandits from this, and since the start of the war BRICS has doubled its membership, while France lost most of its holdings in Africa, to Chinese interests with Russian forces.
The EU is being forced to rearm itself, but it doesn't have the money to do so.
Or rather it does, but it will not touch that money, because the money it has is tied up in its absolutely retarded pseudo-altruist welfare system that only exists to secure votes.
Nobody is gonna vote for the party that says "We need to cut welfare to fund our defense against Russia" so Europe is going to die to its own virtue signalling, which is also the reason it's losing Africa because of the whole "Hospitals Or Lectures" thing.

It's the whole Baizuo thing the Chinese started calling the West. The whole Arrogantly Virtuous Naivety thing.
It's using the West's own nature to kill us.
Because we tied all our money into various flavours of Spic-Nig Cycle.

Hell they even admitted the Russians are the ones pushing the mass migration to the West, but they still won't STOP THE BOATS.
Because that wouldn't be virtuous.
So we let in thousands of Trojan horses, KNOWING there's soldiers inside.

>Why would they use motorcycles in an assault on fortified positions?
It's actually the best of the bad options for a Russian assault if you can believe it. You have so many factors playing into this
>Frontline is static, all approaches are know and killzones set up
>Drones are near omnipresent, and can see up to 30km behind the lines
>Drone teams are almost impossible to suppress in the same way you would for artillery
All this means that armored vehicles get spotted way before they even reach the edge of their own front line. That means plenty of time to get fpv drones into action.
>Bikes are easier to conceal
>Losing one doesn't mean the assault is over
>Ukrainian lines are thinly manned, as in 2/3 guys to a strongpoint sometimes, relying mainly on drones, and set up to more counter armour assaults, not infantry
So the ideal scenario for the Russians is you get on the bikes as close as possible, dash for the Ukrainian position, overwhelm them and dig in before the drones get vectored in. It works at times because Ukraine's line are thinly manned, by reason of insufficient manpower for infantry.
Both sides are using bikes more now, because a visible AFV is just so much more vulnerable than before

>Why were there so many threads about it falling then a couple months ago if it hasn't fallen?
Because threads being made by armchair generals have nothing to do with real predictions. However, there are obvious trends in this war - as soon as Russians manage to land even a few squads on the edge of the city and take a few buildings - it means the city is over. How much time it takes depends on many variables and circumstances, but in this war so far Ukrainians had 0 luck ever kicking Russians out of an urban area, if the Russians manage to settle there.

In that regard Pokrovsk is pretty much over, question is how till the battle is finished.

We're talking about the current state of the war, which is very different from what we saw in 2022.

Russia is now capitalising on having bigger numbers, and throws its weight around both on land and in air to suffocate the Ukrainains who are inferior in numbers in all regards - personnel, drones, artillery, everything.
Back in 2022, Russia was the one with inferior numbers. So it's irrelevant to talk about maths that are no longer present on the current battlefield.

Russia's war tactic is fairly simple, and "slow but safe" conquest is the by-product of it.
- Russians have a superiority in number of soldiers and equipment over the Ukrainians.
- But Russians don't want to zergrush the defensive lines, because this would lead to huge casualties.
- Russians capitalise on their own superior numbers by spreading the contact line as wide as possible, and opening additional new threats in random places in other regions.
- Ukrainians, due to inferior numbers, are forced to drive their troops around, in order to plug holes all the way from Sumy to Kherson oblast.
- This is the equivalent of a sinking ship which keeps developing new holes in the hull nonstop, and Ukrainians are the crew running in circles trying to patch new holes every 5 minutes.
- The moment Russians successfully penetrated the hull of the ship with no patchwork, they concentrate additional pressure there - and frankly, it doesn't matter whether it is strategic gains or merely tactical nonsense - it still causes Ukrainians (who lack manpower) to move troops away from other zones, thus opening up opportunities for Russians there as well.

Fundamentally, for Russia this is low-cost/sure-gain strategy. Once the maths in terms of numbers were set in stone, and Russia has more of pretty much everything in a deployed state - Ukraine has no chances left on the battlefield. You can't go on a successful offensive, when you barely have enough men to plug holes in the front. And those holes keep increasing.

The Ukrainian army is in a slow-retreat for over 2+ years now, because they are a sinking ship, and the longer you sink the worse it gets. Zelensky's only path to victory is either to cause Russia to somehow collapse economically, or cause WW3 between Russia and NATO.

I thought the whole point of of EMP nukes was air-bursted without the intention of blowing something up. If I was megalomaniac'ing this I feel like an EMP weapon would continue to do would only just make Western powers get really quiet for a bit. If it was designated for the frontline and not to knock out Kiev and all that gay shit it would be game-over level disaster for the entire army to the point they'd just have to legitimately run for the Dniepr as cover. This is not true at all and reflects dated 1970s nuclear battlefield tactics era thinking.
Nuclear airburst emp is effective at disabling unprotected ground level installations. The issue is that the EM component of a nuclear device's radiation is line of sight and is diffused by most materials. Meaning unless you are in perfectly flat terrain a small grade will shield most targets.
This implies any kind of realistic emp attack will occur in saturation strikes. Nobody is going to use a nuclear saturation strike for obvious reasons.
The more realistic kind of EMP attack would be using microwave or radar band telemetry systems in phased array mode to reflect sweeping frequencies both off the upper atmosphere and earth's crust, basically employing phased arrays as directional EW weapons but using the earth's crust as a cathode. This is a very old capability.

funny thing when David D. and other NAFO gang kept sperging for weeks that the "bunny ears" were a tactical mistake by the Russians, and that elite Azov units are in the process of clearing out that area, and handing out water bottles to Russian POWs.

All of that came out to be total bs, and the "bunny ears" have since then developed into a new stronghold. The "encirclers" ended up getting encircled themselves.

What does this mean though?
That even elite Ukrainian units like Azov can't kick Russians out of empty fields. So what is left to say about kicking Russians out of houses and basements? It's so over for Ukraine

You people from down under speak naively. The welfare isn't for votes. It's a pragmatic theft. Each euro that goes into welfare passes by middlemen paid to move that money, build shit with it and run programs with it. The issue in Europe is that with 40% of populace being fed by these schemes, it also captures voting and neuters resistance to it. It's what Plato said. Democracy seems good until people find out they can vote for more gibs forever.
In practice you get teachers taking tax money as wages and spreading the ideology that justifies them getting more of it to the students. As a result the west now instead of coming up with new businesses comes up with new welfare ideas. It just pays better with far less hassle and no risk. Then the right wing cuts worker rights to "benefit business" and you get the insane asylum where people are paid to not work and punished for working

Not really, Russians packed up and left, once command realised there's other priorities.

Ukrainians actually didn't retake a single town or city in this entire war, yes starting from 2022.
Because "taking" means actually going in and fighting urban battles, going building-by-building, until nothing is left. If your enemy just packs up and leaves, that's not "taking".
Russians withdrew to the east side of Kherson river, but they continue bombing west side of Kherson regularly, completely destroyed the Ukrainian Marines that kept trying to land in Krynky too

One of the primary reasons Ukraine is miserably losing the war now, is because they THOUGHT that they "retook" towns/cities in the north in 2022.
So they assumed they can do the same everywhere else - but it came out they can't.
Why? - because there is a HUGE difference between
>taking a city/town
and
>walking in freely with little resistance, because the enemy wasn't actually defending or building strongholds

So no, if Ukraine did actually "retake" anything in this war, then they would have simply repeated the same tactic with South and East fronts. They tried to repeat it - they all died as a result. (circa 2023 disastrous counter-offensive)
Everywhere they go now - they end up getting bombed to shit. Hence their only best bet is to slow-down the Russians, but they can neither hold the front, nor "retake" (lol) anything from the Russians. They lack the resources, and always lacked

Pokrovsk is a node that has held the South Eastern front of Ukraine together acting as a supply hub/point of reinforcement. Russia is now threatening to encircle and destroy it and open up the South Eastern Corridor.

Capturing it dismantles a major link in a logistical chain and could very well mean the end if it isn't stabilized.

If only the Ukrainians had a large, motorized/armored force which they could use to push back the advance. Hopefully they didn't waste thousands of troops and mechanized equipment trying to invade an irrelevant Russian territory. :/

It was. That's how war works.
Remember in World War 2 when the Soviets forced both Stalingrad and Leningrad to become graveyards to the point where they were sending millions of troops to deny their capture by any means? If you're ignoring the namesakes neither really seem particularly significant, but what do you think an advancing force (the Germans) is able to do once it has control of those cities? It's now taken away a strategic point and essentially converted it into a forward base to conduct further operations. It's the meat and potatoes and if the defender wants it back they'll have to expend massive amount of resources to take it. See: the Battle of Hue City.

>>518678716
I don't think you understand. No matter how much of a burden this war becomes for the Russians, no matter how many lives are wasted, or how outrageous their actions, they're not going to give up. They'll extend the war into 2030 and beyond if they have to. They want all of Ukraine.

If it was the day the war started, and Ukraine ran off to NATO and the UN to get a new Budapest Memorandum-style agreement? Maybe. Today? Maybe for a few years, tops. Vatniks have been taking ground for months, albeit slowly, but they have no reason to make concessions to anyone anymore. Luhansk belongs to them and they've got a huge swathe of territory stretching to the Black Sea. I'd be surprised if they didn't make a move on Odesa before all is said and done.

I'll explain:
First off, the invasion of Kurk gave their government the necessary push to force mass conscription, and it's estimated they now have about 500,000-700,000 active personnel.

Russia's attack strategies, as of recent time, has involved small incursions of infantry quickly finding their way into gaps in the Ukrainian lines, digging in, and then slowly trickling in reinforcements until they've established a forward base/trench where they can then work to attack the opposing Ukrainian positions/continue incursions to penetrate deeper into Ukrainian territory. So keep in mind, a lot of the times when this is happening there's A LOT of downtime and it takes days and sometimes weeks to establish these points, therefore giving the Ukrainians a lot of time to find and destroy them either in transit/while they're establishing the base, while they're being supplied, whatever. Like in the war in Finland there's so much of them that it's like shooting fish in a barrel but no matter how many losses they take they simply keep fucking coming back or attempting new ways to penetrate/attack until they eventually gain ground.
>If you throw enough shit at a wall, eventually something will stick

All in all; they can afford heavy losses because they simply have more of everything in quantity, but the Ukrainians do not.

>Then why is Russia still meatgrinding 6 miles to the West of Bakhmut?
I already demonstrated the answer to this question to you here: >>518678747
Bakhmut was a center point in logistics and distribution between the capital cities of Donbas' oblasts. By cutting it off they severed a vital supply line into Luhansk. You're implying that the city was strategically unimportant because the fighting line is now just miles west of it in Donetsk, which is absurd. Luhansk is fucking gone dude. Ukraine is never getting any part of it back.

You tell me, because that came out of the NAFO crowd and no one else. When Putin started the invasion he signaled guaranteed independence for Donetsk & Luhansk. That's his minimum to declare victory. As it stands he's on track for that within the next year or so.

you need to understand that it's difficult to take territory when it's defended. so you simply kill all the trench meat and then you take the land. the ukraine is running low on trench meat to the point that major fortified areas are falling one after the other and eventually they'll have neither trenches nor meat. at that point they'll be faced with the choice of continuing to fight until they're fully occupied, or surrendering unconditionally. either way, russia wins and dictates terms like transfer of territory

Did you forget that Ukraine recaptured the entirety of Kherson?
Do you remember what happened early on in the war that made Kherson nigh uncapturable?
The Kharkova dam was (presumably) destroyed by the Russians, flooding the lower portions of the Dniepr river.
Russians have been completely unsuccesful in taking any territory near Kherson because the terrain is impassible.
For Odesa to be under threat, Kherson would be captured, for Kherson to be captured, the Dniepr would have to be crossed, for the Dniepr to be crossed, Zaphorizia would need to be captured. For Zaphorizia to be captured, the entire area west of Pokrovsk and East of the Dniepr would need to be captured.
And for the entire area west of Pokrovsk to be captured, Pokrovsk has to be captured.
So yeah, why don't we just start with capturing Pokrovsk before we embarass ourselves with such lofty predictions, shall we?

Anon I think you've been fed a line of bullshit. Ukraine reclaimed Kherson city after a botched counter-offensive by destroying the bridges east of the city, which forced the vatniks to retreat across the Dnipro. Ukraine never actually managed to push over the river because Ruskies turned it into a killzone. That front has been a stalemate since like 2022. The closest thing to activity on that front was the "bridgehead" that never actually existed because their probes were met with sustained artillery fire.

The truth is that territorial concessions from Ukraine are not a Russian victory.
If the price for some depopulated territory is your global standing, a few million men, your currency being so valueless you trade in Chinese Yuan, the entirety of your oil and gas infrastructure, your stockpile of military surplus you've spent the last sixty years building, then can you really say it was worth it?
Russia could have just bought that land and used soft power to influence things, but Russia couldn't outbid NATO, so now they themselves are being bought by the Chinese, as their relevance on the global stage rapidly disintegrates.
But yes, they took some land they can exploit for resources; resourced that they will sell to China for less than what it cost to dig it up because they have enslaved themselves for eternity to the might Chinese Dragon.

Russia doesn't care about half of that shit, and the other half can be rebuilt at a profit, at least for Putin and his oil baron buddies.

Col MacGregor warned us but nobody listened because it cut into MIC profits.

>But Macgregor's scenario included caveats. He forecasted that despite advances in deep-strike missiles, close-up ground fighting would continue to be a critical factor in the outcome of the war. And his chapter contained a warning to those who would become overly dependent on technology: "In the right hands, modern military technology increases the American Armed Forces' ability to diminish its adversary's capacity for independent action, but in the wrong hands it cannot compensate for the absence of human insight, understanding, or effective leadership. This is because technological advances cannot eliminate ambiguity, uncertainty, chance, and the forces of chaos from the field of conflict."
