Do you live in a high cost of living state? If so move. Get a job lined up in a area with a decent amount of jobs and don't spend more than half your income on rent. The midwest has the best value for people starting out in life working in their 20s-30s. Chicago and its suburbs, Milwaukee Wisconsin and Madison, and other surrounding towns like Appleton, parts of Iowa, Minnesota, etc.

Idk, my family is the landlord we rent out 4 apartments and 2 small villas. I owned the place I’m staying in since I was 20yo and I’ve been renting the 2 spare rooms out to uni students for the past 5 years.
How they did it? Idk man my grandpa from dad side had 3 degrees, sold books until his last years at 90yo, grandma was a teacher, retired at 35. On mom’s side also teachers, but grandpa got the title of knight of the republic for some reason that’s lost to time now. Mother is a teacher, Dad’s been into banking since he was 23 years old.
Yes it was easier for the past generations, the capital we own is also only a fraction of the properties that grandpa had, since his stuff got divided in 3 parts for dad and my uncles. I always try to be nice to tourists when I see them, speak in English or in their own language if I can, the other week I had a couple of Dutch tourists that were a bit lost and I gave them directions and gave them a couple of cans of local beers I had with me to give them a nice memory while here, since I doubt they're happy about how their vacation turned out.

Meh I cried too when I ended up homeless in 2017 of August.

The hard thing is working while homeless. If you can somehow manage that then you can rebound really fast. If you have a broken down car or a boarded up house or something to live in, don't share your location with ANYONE ELSE no matter how much you trust them, keep that shit secret and if you can manage to sleep well enough you can do a lot. I spent August wandering around the streets, September and October in the psych ward, then back on the streets freezing fucking cold and going insane the whole winter from no sleep.

Nowadays I have a Hudson Bay blanket, I've learned rob pajeets, and I'm not as badly injured as I was before though still not over it, and I've been managing a bunch of community gardens nobody else bothers with all by myself and successfully staying away from the soup kitchens and the drama, violence, and thieving they bring.

If I can just fix a few more physical health problems and get even more off grid I can be pretty okay other than really fucking lonely due to absolutely no pussy.

Anyways if you're able to obtain money while homeless you can use it 100% on high quality wool stuff and making your situation better for yourself.

Make sure to have multiple pairs of socks btw and to keep your feet really clean and aired out, don't do meth/crack/fent, and only stick to psychedelics like shrooms and DMT. I honestly believe we need to implement laws that legally require a Rent Lock Contract. Whatever the rent is when you first sign the lease/agreement... it stays that way. No raising. It's not price controlling to do that, this should be the free market option. They do this in other industries... housing needs to be same. They can charge whatever price they want, but they have to lock that price when you move in and shouldn't be legally allowed to raise it.... unless they provide more space, like adding another room or merging with another unit.

I used to be extremely poor. My diet would be oatmeal, peanut butter, tuna, and a multivitamin. I've done it before and I can still total it out to about $1.00/day in 2025, and most of the cost is because of the tuna. It can go well under that without it.
