I did a lot of contract work in Pittsburgh steel mills in the 90s. IDK how it is now, but back then Allegheny-Ludlum had enormous mills right in the middle of the city. Usually these things are on the periphery, but not in Pittsburgh. You could be walking through like downtown, turn a corner, and boom -- massive stinky blast furnace and Q-BOP.
Every street corner had a pub or bar on it, kinda like Cheers. The employees of these mills would clock out of a shift, walk across the street, and drink some brews still in their fire-resistant jackets.
Also lots of Polish phenotypes. Dark-haired men with large moustaches.
I liked Pittsburgh; it felt comfy.
