how would it 'be' ? Truth is a thought, it cannot be without being thought. Reality is what would be, without thought. Thats the Aquinas line of thinking which i find logical. If only one person aligns his thoughts with reality then he knows truth. Only if others can align their thoughts in the exact same way they can also see truth. But this is impossible due to communication limitations, and so we will argue forever on the smallest of issues

On the basis of you and me speaking, it is a word and its part of our language, and so it is a thought first.
The world doesnt "depend" on anything. Truth is simply what we think is reality. For example one anon will say God exists and created the universe and that is the truth. He is absolutely convinced and so thats how reality works for him. That is truth. But is that the truth? and if one individual knew the truth about this, somehow his thoughts aligned with the reality of this matter, what difference would it make from the one who simply believes ? what difference between knowing and belief ?
