So I was saved in the Baptist traditions growing up. I came to know Christ my Savior during high school.

But during college I grew away from my faith. I justified it in accordance to Benjamin Franklin's philosophy of church attendance in his autobiography where I can spend my Sunday productively by studying the Word. This is was justified for me because college studies took a lot of time for me.

But it was in the last two months in my regarding of the book "Death of Ivan Illyich" by Leo Tolstoy that I began to contemplate my mortality a lot. That and the recent passing of my father from cancer. Seeing Ivan and my dad in the hour of death of not wanting to die, and saying they are not ready to die made me start thinking: Will I too thrash and cry out in the days of my death?

So my faith, which was like a wilting plant that logn for water, was finally rejuvenated by the waters of the church. I wanted to be nearer to my God, so that in the hour of my death, I won't thrash out.

So I began with attending Orthodox lithurgy, but they only did some stuff when I worked. Yet I hunger still to be nearer to God. So I went to a Catholic Mass, which did their mass almost every day. I also attended my Baptist charity works and sometimes did service with them.

All of this is so I could be nearer to my God. I believe this is the true non-denominals path. I believe this is the true path of a Christian. A personal relationship with Chirst.

I agree and some Orthodox priests also agree, that the presence of the Triune God is there in other churches and denominations. Though the other churches are lacking in what they can offer and can teach heresy and false doctrine because they eschew the church fathers.
Im a convert to Christianity and chose to convert to Orthodoxy because it is true and actual Christianity. I also was considered about the validity of my baptism. I didnt trust Pastor Bob to do a valid baptism that would actually do something. I trust the baptism that an Orthodox priest did to be valid.
Some of the non denominational churches are very lost and just make things up. Mainline Protestant churches have been pozzed and infected with liberal and secular rot and the spirit of the world. Roman Catholicism is getting pozzed and overly legalistic, too much submission to the bishop of Rome. I dont believe the bishop of Rome should have authority over the entire world. Orthodoxy remains, unchanging.

Also a lot of orthodox priests won't baptize you if you are not a catechumen of the church who has been sufficiently catechized and is ready for baptism.
