We have a ghost it's called consciousness and it resides in the body. Consciousness has never been proven to come out of matter or energy. We do not observe matter or energy changing into consciousness which is what would happen if consciousness was the product of the brain. The only reasonable conclusion is that consciousness is not a product of the brain at all. The brain is an interface between consciousness (which is not bound to, dependent upon, or produced by the body) and the body. Thus the only reasonable conclusion about this is that the death of the body is not the death of consciousness.
