It works well if you practice hurling a refined spear into their nose right before they grab you. They recoil and swim off pissed, and then come back for more. I agree it is a significant problem in the current generation, but not an insurmountable one. This, the Romans too. The Roman Republic kept it pretty simple by giving a man complete sovereignty over every member of his household; wife, children slaves, and animals. A man's wife was his property and he could legally kill her anytime he liked. Men didn't do this most of the time, obviously out of both decency and not wanting to incur the vengeance of the wife's family, but if a man's wife cheated on him and cucked him, he was free to kill her and Chadicus' bastards and start over. The knowledge that men had that legal power alone kept women in line. The state artificially made every man into an Alpha, returning man to the state of nature within his own home where his might over his woman made right. And a man's willingness to commit legal violence against his wife no doubt kept the women wet and willing for their husbands. After learning that, I can't really see how a society is supposed to function any other way, especially knowing what I know now about female nature.
